Since 1923, the name Blackwells has been synonymous with 'the great New Zealand driving experience'.

From those early beginnings, providing vehicle sales and workshop repairs, Blackwell Motors has grown to become one of the largest independently owned motor companies in New Zealand. Today, Blackwells continue their tradition of commitment to providing a total quality driving experience, by proudly representing the Holden, HSV and Isuzu brands to the motorists of the region. From the initial selection of a superior motor vehicle from our top quality range to financing, technical support, back-up and maintenance, Blackwells commitment to providing quality, expertise and customer satisfaction is second to none.

Blackwells City and Sockburn dealerships

Blackwell Motors service the Christchurch, Canterbury and South Island region from two dealership locations. Our central city dealership on the corner of Cashel and Madras Streets is home to our New and Used vehicle showrooms, HSV showroom and extensive service workshops.

Our Sockburn dealership, on the corner of Waterloo Road and Racecourse Roads houses new and used vehicle sales, service workshops, a state of the art Paint and Panel department, extensive Parts warehouse and is also the South Island's largest commercial truck Sales and Service facility.

Since the M6.3 earthquake that struck Christchurch on the 22nd February 2011, our City dealership has been closed due to it's proximity to the cordoned CBD Red Zone. Since that time, ALL Blackwells Sales and Service operations have been successfully housed together at our Sockburn facility.

While the amalgamation of all our services have created quite a squeeze at our Sockburn dealership, we are undertaking a development programme to ease congestion and improve customer service facilities.

At the same time, we are moving forward with plans to return to a refurbished and secure City Dealership as soon as possible.
